The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has launched an initiative dubbed “Accra for Art” aimed at encouraging and supporting artists to revitalise public walls and buildings through art.
The Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer of Accra, Mr Mohammed Adjei Sowah, who launched the “Accra for Art” initiative, said the event formed part of efforts to beautify the city and make it clean.

the initiative forms part of efforts being made to beautify the city and make it clean by transforming public walls into colourful images.
The Mayor of Accra was optimistic that the initiative would help curtail the indiscriminate posting of posters which ends up defacing public walls.
He further stated that the assembly wants to ensure that the posters were not just removed but also beautify the walls to deter and discourage people from pasting posters.
The Marketing and Communication Manager of Nesstra, Mr Yaw Ampem-Darko Antwi, said in a speech that the company was supporting the city’s beautification drive with its Premium products worth GHC 150,000.
