Communication Team member for the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) Egya Nketia has described the killing of two policemen at Buduburam as a case of “Putting round objects into square holes”.
Speaking on Adoa tv flagship program This Morning, Egya Nketia said, even though It is constitutionally mandated that, every Change of Government requires a new IGP, the constitution can be amended.
He added that, due to political malpractices in the country, police officers are being deprived of the chance to contest for the position of IGP to be elected.
However, the IGP position has been a sole responsibility of the president to elect a situation he described as a worry to the police sector. Interference of Government should also be avoided within the police sector he said.
Touching on issues of politics, Mr Egya Nketia added his voice to the campaign message delivered by former President John Mahama which claims, “I’m Coming Back to Fix the Mess.
He said the two political parties should concentrate on development rather than competing on the mess created.
He said, the level of menace especially corruption among the two parties is increasing making a reference to the PPA investigative Piece by Manasseh Awuni Azure.
