The Chief Executive Officer of the Public Procurement Authority (PPA), Mr Adjenim Boateng Adjei, has allegedly been removed from office.
According to report reaching Adoa Tv news desk, revealed that the PPA boss was involved in financial embezzlement.
The PPA boss made headlines in an investigative report conducted by a freelance investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni.
A letter from the presidency signed by the Director of Communication, Eugene Arhin, indicated that the suspension follows an allegation of an investigative report conducted by a freelance investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni involved in financial embezzlement.
The ‘Contract for Sale’ report, which was aired on social media, revealed that Talent Discovery Limited (TDL), a company incorporated in June 2017, won a number of government contracts with the PPA company through restrictive tendering.
According to the report, Mr Adjenim Boateng Adjei was engaged in selling a ¢22.3 million road contract to K-Drah Enterprise, a fake company Manasseh used for the investigation.
“The company also had for sale a Ministries of Works and Housing contract to construct a concrete drain in Santa Maria in Accra as well as a contract to build a one-story dormitory block in the Asante Akim North District”, the report added.
