The Collation of Stakeholders on the Electricity Contracts and Arrangements (COSECA) has commended the government for taking immediate steps to tackle the suspicious suspended ECG-PDS deal.
inasmuch as some people thought it was a rush for the government to tackle the issues.
According to the coalition government effort to step into the PDS, the matter was based on the fact, they needed to cut potential lost the deal was causing the state.
Addressing the media at the forum, Chairman of the group, Steve Manteaw urged the government to extend their investigation towards the suspicious act by ECG-PDS deal.
Mr Manteaw said private sector participation is one tool government must adopt in solving the issues. Apart from that their several method governments can use to resolve the matter.
On his part, IMANI Vice President, Kofi Bentil, said COSECA does not tell the government to council the contract due to it effective it will have on the country but to acquire grounds for counselling it since their intention for the contract was to get competent people to manage the Electricity Company.
He proposes that either government retain or Council the contract, but the only thing to retain PDS is for PDS to fulfil all conditions in the contract.
