CHAMBER OF INDEPENDENT POWER PRODUCERS GOVERNING BOARD INAUGURATED

The Chamber of Independent Power Producers Distribution Companies and Bulk consumers Ghana (CIPDB) launched to help the government reduce burden in the area of policy formulation and regulation of the energy sector.

The first board of directors to govern the chamber has been inaugurated on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at the World Trade Centre, Accra.

Ladyship Justice Ellen Vivian Amoah a judge at the High court was the guest speaker at the inauguration. 

The governing board consisting of fifteen members are been chaired by Togbe Afede XIV, in an address he said, a stable and sustainable energy sector was a key in the economic and social transformation of the country.

Togbe Afede XIV is the president of the National House of Chiefs, Ghana and the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State and President of Asogli Traditional Area in the Volta region of Ghana. The other 14 members are Mr Kwame Pianim who served as an Economic Research Officer of United Nations, New York from 1964 to 1970.

iii) Mr David Kwadzo Ametefe, a private legal practitioner, practising from SIMA CONSULTANCY since 2017, presently a partner iv

 ) Mr Qun Yang the chairman and Chief Executive officer of Sunon Asogli Power(GH) Ltd.

 v) Mr Reginald France is a founder/ Managing Director of Boulders Advisors Limited (BAL)

 vi) Mr Kojo Fosu is the Executive Chairman and sole shareholder of Trojan Power Limited vii

 ) Mr Theo Sackey is a Senior Vice President at Africa Finance Corporation responsible for project Development viii

 ) Mr Victor Onoja is an engineer with experience in power plant construction and management.

 ix) CHENG Ylis currently the chairman of the board BXC Ghana Ltd.

 x) Mr Norbert Cormla-Djamposu Anku served as the Director of the Engineering Department of GRIDCO.

 xi) Mr Elikplim Kwabla Apetorgbor is currently the CEO of the Chamber. He has a good working knowledge of Ghana’s power sector.

 xii) Mr Bharveoh Kumar is the Managing Director of B5 plus. The largest steel manufacturing company in Ghana.

 xiii) Mr Erik Van Der Staaji is the Managing Director of Textiles Ghana Limited.

 xiv) Buulu Bichesh is the Director of Karpowers
