KUMAWOOD PETITIONS PARLIAMENT OVER 200-ACRE FILM VILLAGE AT KYEBI

The Akan movie Actors and producers popularly known as Kumawood has petitioned Parliament today for the government to rescind its decision of constructing a film village at Kyebi in the Eastern Region for the movie industry.

Speaking to Gladys Emefa Gemadzie at the parliament house of Ghana, some movie Actors explained that since Kumasi is the hub for local movies and productions, it is appropriate for a Film Village to be constructed there.

They added that they have already secured land at Kumasi for government to construct the film village.

This comes after the finance minister during the 2019 budget announced that the government has decided to construct a 200-acre film village at kyebi in the Eastern region to support the movie industry.
