The Ezekiel Ansah foundation is a non-profit organisation launched in 2016 by Ghana’s NFL star Ezekiel Ansah to train kids who are interested in American football
The foundation held its third successive football camp at Legon campus to train both JHS and SHS Students. The Aim of the foundation is to nurture and unearth talents for the future
About Eight schools across the country participated in this year’s football training camp namely WASS, GHANATTA, HOTCASS, WESLEY GRAMMAR, FRAFRAHA JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, OSU PRESEC, ST.JOHN’S GRAMMAR SCHOOL AND LEGON PRESEC.
The students were taken through some NFL basic skills such as Dribbling and Attack, Dribbling and Defense, Height jump, How to throw and Handle the ball etc.
According to the Ex Detroit Lions Pro Bowl rusher who joined the Seattle Seahawks on a year’s contract said ” the coaches came to him and said they think they can put some few names down and talk to them afterwards, so there is a lot of potential there today but all in all we are here to have some fun and everybody came here to support.”
When asked whether he intends to go to other regions to train the kids he said the plan is not to stay in Accra, we are trying to let all this go over Ghana but its a gradual process and we are taking it a step by step.
He continued that” it is his dream to have some few coaches come down to Ghana to check the youth by themselves and we are going to move on from there” he opined.
Throughout the years the Defensive End player has given back to society and continues to extend it even more to the deprived people through the Ezekiel Ansah Foundation, a non-profit organisation that strongly believes that with the right support and opportunity the youth could be helped realise dreams.
