Health Minister has inaugurated 11 allied health council board members to provide an effective system for the regulation of health professionals whose work have a direct impact on patient and service to ensure public protection.
The new 11 board members will al oversee the regulation of education, training and practice of allied health professionals in order to gain public confidence.
The Health Minister, Hon. Kwaku Agyemang Manu in an interview disclosed that council and board will facilitate the working conditions and management to help the health sectors and the allied health board members to achieve the desired result
It is my pleasure to have you serve on the allied health council board and be reminded of the act of parliament that establish the council, the health professional’s regulatory bodies act, 2013(act 857) places huge responsibility on you as members of the board that is why you have been selected based on your professional pedigree, wealth of experience and strong network “said the minister”
He advised the new board members to identify and analyse challenges confronting them and work together to help the council improve on its work and the government of President Nana Akufo-Addo has the vision to move the country beyond aid which will require prudent management of resource, accountability to the funding sources and the provision of effective oversight and strategic advice to the management team of the council to achieve the desired result.
The Chairman of the council and former head of the department of medical physics school of nuclear and allied science, Prof. Kwame kyere noted that they will make sure there be training, and exams for the health professionals and those who pass will be allowed to pursue their training in the health sectors
