The president for Teshie Residents association and Communication officer for the NDC in the Ledzokuku constituency, Mr E.A. Mettle-Nunoo Jnr has issued a statement to the Government, for the construction of roads at Teshie.
In the statement he said, The Government is given two weeks’ ultimatum starting from today to the 26th off June 2019 to fix the bad roads at Teshie.
Below is his statement.
The previous government in only 2015 awarded the contract to Malin Investment at the cost of 61 Million Ghana Cedis. The contractor by then was given 24 months to complete the road, 40% of the work was completed. The project has been abandoned after the change of Government on the 13th June 2018 when the Minister for Roads and Highways, Akwasi Amoako Atta after a tour of the Teshie Link Roads promised construction works on the roads will resume on Monday 18th June 2018 till date nothing has been done.
Later the MP for Teshie, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye told us the road contract has been awarded to HAJIAG WEST AFRICAN CONSTRUCTION LTD, for work to start in March and end in 18 months. However, to date, nothing has been done on the road.
Residents are suffering.
Drivers are suffering
Patients are suffering
School children are suffering
The link roads stretch from Teshie Police Station, through LEKMA Hospital to Manet Junction. The roads are in a very bad state. The patience of the residents has been exhausted. We are given Government, 2weeks ultimatum which falls on the 26th of June, 2019. We residents together with the drivers would embark on a massive demonstration on the road.
E.A. Mettle-Nunoo Jnr
