The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has cautioned the public to be weary of the harmful and deadly effects of tobacco use.
In an interview with the Senior Regulatory Officer, Tobacco and substances abuse department of the FDA, Juliana Amankwah Marfo said, eight million people worldwide are killed by the tobacco epidemic of which more One million are non-smokers dying from breathing second-hand smoke.
“I’ll caution the general public, particularly, the youth to avoid ‘shisha’, smokeless tobacco which people sniff and any other forms of tobacco. It’s absolutely useless and will lead you to early death,” she intimated.
The FDA in celebrating the annual World No Tobacco Day (WNTD), embarked on a health walk through the streets of Madina to create awareness of the dangers of using Tobacco and Tobacco products.
