Hon. Kwadwo kyeremanteng, minister for Trade and industry has said that government is ready to monitor all industry owners from start to finish.
He disclosed this during a press briefing to the media and the general public on issues of developmental projects by the NPP government relating to the one district one factory initiative.
According to Hon kyeremanteng, “Government is not ready to deny anybody from benefiting from the one district one factory initiate, stressing that, privately owned enterprises will also be considered”.
However, there will be an existing company keen to the 1D1F initiative, likewise, a set of common user’s facilitating to towns without factories, which is financed by the African Development Bank.
“We want the youth to be owners of 1D1F, he added”.
He advised that members of parliament should seek for promoters that are interested in their district but not to wait for the government, hence Economic activities will champion the district level for an equitable distribution of resources.
Stressing on, He stated clearly that, the Ashanti region is a location for an open market in the international world with the reason being that, the region serves as a route to other neighbouring countries.
Nevertheless, there will be three strategic industries which will diversify and introduce new growth poles for the economy.
He mentioned that “Government has made provision for strategic guidance to protect iron and steel industry.
Graduates are also not left out in this initiative, they will be asserted in all endeavour to assist in spreading industrialization “
The minister concluded by introducing one region one park initiative to boost productivity which is rightfully on the pipeline to commence soon.
He said there are about 79 projects expected to be commenced before the end of 2019.
