The Ghana Education service has explained a new intervention in introducing CCTV to supervise examinations.
According to the ministry the method would help in supervision during examinations so as to reduce examination malpractice.
However, during a meeting held by board of directors, in the educational sector, it was said, the use of CCTV cameras would be of help to examiners since it will serve as a reference during marking for a transparent work in the process of collation during examination result.
According to the board, “Student go the extra mile to get both external and internal help in illegal ways during wassce and BECE which is collapsing the Educational Sector. Adding that, students who are recalcitrant and not ready to learn would put in much effort to sit back to their books since the new system will serve as watch dog during and after examinations.
